Max Valier Observatory

Located in Gummer near Steinegg is South Tyrol's only astronomical observatory, which has been open to visitors since 2002. There, you can discover the Cassegrain reflecting telescope, the solar observatory, and a precise marble sundial. A particular highlight is the Planet Trail—an approximately two-hour nature walk that illustrates the sizes and distances of the planets on a scale of 1:1 billion.
